Security and Safety

Students are responsible for their own security and safety and must be aware of the security and safety of others. The College is not responsible for any student’s personal belongings that are lost, stolen, or damaged on campus, in parking lots, at clinical/externship sites, or during any college activities. Students should immediately report any medical, criminal, or other emergency occurring on campus to their Instructor, Program Director, or any College employee. Upon receipt of any report of a medical or criminal emergency, the College will, on behalf of the student, obtain the services of medical or security professionals as appropriate. Please see your Campus Executive Director or Director of Education for the College’s Safety and Security policies. Students should immediately report any medical, criminal, or other emergency occurring on campus to their Instructor, Program Director, or any College employee.

Emergency Mass Notification System

Download the LiveSafe app and log in with your ACC email address to register your mobile phone number to receive emergency notifications via text message and app push notifications. You can download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play. LiveSafe also gives you the ability to report suspicious activity using text, photo, or video, contact security anonymously, call 911 for emergencies, and access a variety of campus safety resources.

Global Security Operations Center (GSOC)

The GSOC is a 24/7 central coordination center that supports campus safety & security at each site by monitoring surveillance cameras, access control, local news media, and weather, which may impact campus operations. GSOC is the hub for protective intelligence, risk mitigation, incident management, mass notification, and communication. The GSOC 24/7 phone number is listed on every ACC ID badge.

COVID-19 Information

Update 4/24

In April 2024, ACC revised our COVID-19 policy to align with the CDC. The latest guidance is similar to recommendations provided for other common respiratory viruses like the flu and RSV.

Please see the chart below to determine when you should return to work if you develop new symptoms. If you have questions, please contact your Student Affairs Advisor.

1) If you have symptoms such as fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, or headache, among others (that aren’t better explained by another cause like seasonal allergies):

2) You can return to work when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:

3) It is encouraged to take the added precautions for the next 5 days:

Stay home and distance yourself from others

1. Your symptoms are getting better overall, and 2. You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication)

1. Wear a well-fitting mask

2. Avoid crowded areas where you’re unable to maintain physical distance

3. Take a test to find out if you’re currently infected with a certain respiratory virus to guide your treatment decision

4. Practice good hygiene by covering coughs/sneezes and washing hands often
