Professional Communications for the Health Professional prepares students to produce verbal and writtencommunications appropriate to practice environments and community. Emphasis is placed on communicating in a manner that is sensitive to age, gender, culture and/or socioeconomic status. The course further expands on the importance of communicating to the client and public the value ofoccupation in the achievement of health that was introduced in Principles of Occupational Therapy. Documentation skills introduced in OTA200 are further developed, incorporating commonly accepted medical terminology and occupational therapy language.
