The Student Services department at American Career College-Los Angeles hosted a "popular" open house this May.
More than 200 guests explored the Student Services center over two days to learn about the department. Plus, each student in attendance was treated to popcorn and a chance to pop a balloon for a prize.
"We had a total of 202 students participate and learn about the resources and services provided by our department," ACC-Los Angeles Student Services Director Nadya Torres said. "In addition, they all now know our location and where to find us if they need any assistance in the future."
More than 90 students showed up the first day, and as word of mouth spread, the hallway outside Student Services was soon lined with students waiting for their chance to spin the prize wheel and talk with the staff.
“It’s clear that our students appreciated receiving information on the many valuable services that Student Services provides," ACC-LA Executive Director Chris Turen said. “You can't beat an event that adds significantly to building a strong campus community and informs our students."
Student Services are available at each ACC campus and can direct students to a variety of different resources for school information, personal assistance with childcare or emergency housing, transportation assistance, medical services and more.
