From May 6–12, ACC proudly joins the nation in celebrating National Nurses Week and honoring the nurses who make a difference every day. At American Career College, National Nurses Week is a special time to recognize the dedication, compassion, and perseverance of our nursing students, graduates, and faculty.
This year’s theme from the American Nurses Association, "Nurses Make the Difference," reminds us that nursing is more than a profession—it’s a calling that impacts lives, families, and communities.
ACC is proud to support those answering that call through our Vocational Nursing program and Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program.
ACC nursing students come from all walks of life, bringing unique experiences and strengths to the healthcare community. Many find their calling through personal challenges, new beginnings, or a lifelong desire to help others.
For ACC graduate Kayla, it took a freeway revelation to realize her true passion. After years of uncertainty, she enrolled in the Vocational Nursing program at ACC and never looked back. “I realized I needed to find a career that fulfilled me,” she shared. Today, she’s making a meaningful difference every time she steps into a patient’s room.

At ACC, the commitment to nursing excellence starts in the classroom. Passionate leaders like Dr. LaMont Williams (the Associate Director of Nursing at ACC-Orange County) are empowering the next generation of nurses by sharing their expertise and inspiring students to believe in their potential. “You are capable of more than you know,” she tells students—a message that resonates long after graduation.
