Welcoming a New Program: Medical Coding
This year, ACC launched its first 100% online program. The new Medical Coding program is designed to prepare students for rewarding careers in healthcare data, coding, and patient record management. This program offers students the opportunity to gain industry-current knowledge and hands-on experience so that they can excel in their future roles.
Inspiring Student Stories
ACC is home to driven, passionate students who dedicate themselves to transforming lives through compassionate care. Despite challenges, their perseverance proves the extraordinary power of human determination. The inspiring stories from ACC students could fill a book; here are a couple of our favorites from this year.
Nisha’s Journey: From Adversity to Valedictorian
Nisha S. overcame immense obstacles after surviving a severe car accident and undergoing extensive recovery to graduate at the top of her class and be named ACC-Los Angeles valedictorian. Her determination and contributions to the ACC community speak volumes about her strength and that of our students.
As Nisha said, "I always wanted to be in a career where I can help other people. Helping to save lives and make a difference in others’ lives is a really big deal for me."

Stacy’s Experience: From Campus Visit to Career
Stacy, a graduate of the Surgical Technology program, shared her story of success and how she was drawn to ACC by its hands-on experience opportunities. She highlighted the support she received at ACC, saying:
"The teachers don’t mind you asking a lot of questions. They guide you through the practical aspects of the job."

Giving Back to Our Communities
ACC believes in fostering a culture of giving, and this year our students and staff came together to make a real impact.
- Toy Drive for Pediatric Non-Profit Partners: The ACC-Ontario campus collected over 1,000 toys for children supported by our pediatric healthcare partners including the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House, Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, Corona-Norco Family YMCA, and Easterseals Child Development Centers (4 locations).
- Feeding America Volunteer Day: ACC-Ontario student ambassadors spent a day at Feeding America, packaging food for families in need and learning about the organization’s vital work.
- City of Hope Walk: The inaugural City of Hope Walk united staff and students to support the fight against cancer. Our Dean of Nursing, Sherri Barrett, and Regional Clinical Partnerships Director, Mary Sanchez, played key roles in organizing this powerful event. Our OC campus staff/students also created friendship bracelets, which were a huge hit!
