Stacy H. didn’t discover American Career College through flashy ads or word-of-mouth. It was a simple, everyday moment that changed her life.
Living nearby, she passed by the ACC-Los Angeles campus often until one day, curious about what opportunities might be waiting for her, she decided to go inside.
“Today’s the day I start my education,” she said, after walking through the doors.
Her first impression of ACC was a good one. The campus felt clean, safe, and welcoming, which made her feel like she was in the right place. But what really stood out to Stacy was the hands-on experience the surgical technology program offered.
“That was my favorite part,” she shared, explaining how the teachers were always there to help, answering every question and guiding students through the practical aspects of the job. “The teachers don’t mind you asking a lot of questions.”
During her time at ACC, Stacy discovered some hidden gems, like the online library and one-on-one sessions with the librarian. These resources became a lifeline for her, helping her get through the tougher parts of the surgical tech program.
“You have to be motivated,” she said. “Just go in and finish what you started.”
For Stacy, training for her career wasn’t just about getting a job; it was about making a difference in people’s lives. The thought of working in the operating room, and helping to save lives, was what inspired her to choose surgical tech over any other program.
Now that she’s graduated, Stacy is ready for the next chapter. She’s eager to apply to operating rooms and put her skills to the test, knowing that ACC has prepared her well. But more than that, she’s proud — proud to be the first in her family to graduate from college.
“It’s an amazing feeling!” she said.
