What's it like to be a student at American Career College? The best way to find out is to come by a college campus and feel the excitement and energy. It's impossible to describe the experiences you'll have and the friends you'll make. Here are few of the things we provide to make being a college student more enjoyable.
The Student Services staff was formed specifically to help attend to the day-to-day needs of our college students. We provide information about transportation, childcare, professional counseling services available within the community, and academic tutoring. We will also help attend to any other special concerns which may arise. So if you have a question, just ask. That's exactly why we're here.
Prior to the first day of class, we hold a new student orientation for you. You'll hear from all the various departments and have a chance to ask questions. Best of all, you'll get to meet and mingle with your new classmates!
Quarterly Satisfaction Surveys
We want to know what you think. Each quarter, we'll invite you to participate in a Satisfaction Survey. These are designed to give you an opportunity to tell us how we're doing and what you'd like to see improved.
The college faculty and staff have an open-door policy and are readily available and willing to help. We also provide tutoring to help you through any academic tough spots.
Student Appreciation Day
Sometimes it just feels good to say, "Thanks." That's what Student Appreciation day is all about. This is a special day that we try to make all about you. It's filled with fun and just a great time to take a deep breath and relax a bit.
Perfect Attendance Recognition
One of the most important things you can do as a college student is attend class each day. What goes on in the classrooms and labs simply can't be replaced. Because it's so important, we recognize those college students with perfect attendance each month. It's something to be proud of. We'll even help you brag!
The Los Angeles campus has two student-parking options: street parking near and around the college, or monthly parking in a parking lot two blocks from the school at New Hampshire Ave. and Clinton Ave. You can purchase your parking pass from the Business Office. We even have a shuttle to take you to and from campus.
The Orange County Campus has free daily parking available around the campus as well as around La Palma Building 2. Just like in LA, the Orange County Campus offers shuttle service as well.
The Ontario Campus has free daily parking available around the campus.
When you've successfully completed all of your career training requirements, we want to help you celebrate. Our graduation ceremony is a time for college students and their loved ones to mark the end of one journey and the beginning of an exciting new one. Graduations occur twice a year per college campus.
Graduate Refresher Courses
Stay sharp! American Career College offers its graduates the privilege of skill refresher courses. Career training courses, modules or terms may be audited at no additional charge, subject to class space and equipment availability.
High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation
Some American Career College programs require a high school diploma or HSE. HSE stands for High School Equivalency, and is a nationally recognized certificate of high school equivalency. It consists of five tests over two days: writing, social studies, science, mathematics, and reading.
To help our students succeed, we offer HSE preparation, practice testing, and on-campus High School Equivalency (HSE) testing in a comfortable, safe classroom environment.
First, we'll evaluate how you match up with the test, how long until you will be ready to pass it, and create an individualized training schedule to prepare you for the High School Equivalency (HSE).
We'll also supply teaching, tutoring, and take-home study materials. If necessary, we will refer you to a public adult school for added help.
If you pass an official in-house practice test while an American Career College student, ACC pays for your High School Equivalency (HSE) test fees. And we offer a $100 award to qualified students for passing the High School Equivalency (HSE) and silver cords for you to wear at graduation. See the HSE staff for details.
