Students Had a Ball At ACC-Long Beach’s Sports-Themed Appreciation Day

American Career College students in Long Beach got an early taste of summer during the Student Appreciation Day this June.

Student Resource Center Manager Chandra Deveroux said she prepared 300 hot dogs in anticipation of the bi-annual event. Deveroux said the students really enjoyed themselves while playing games in the lobby and using ACC's new Snapchat filter. There was also a raffle for prizes.

The day's theme was "sports team," and most of the campus turned out wearing jerseys from their favorite football, basketball, baseball or soccer team. One cohort showed up in matching uniforms to support "Team Chacon," named after their favorite ACC-Long Beach instructor.

"It was a success," Deveroux said. "Our students had a good time and that's why we do it — to thank them for all their hard work."
