Alexis Corrales is a few short months away from graduating with her associate of occupational science degree in respiratory therapy at American Career College-Ontario and is looking forward to her next step.
“With the pandemic, I wanted to give back and respiratory therapy is a great program here that just came naturally to me,” Alexis shared. “I have fallen in love with this program and have learned so much in a little amount of time.”
In addition to her classes, Alexis serves as a Student Ambassador for her program, assisting other students with their needs.
“I am definitely shy and quiet at times but I learned to take on leadership roles,” Alexis shared.
After playing lacrosse through high school, where she also did ASB leadership, Alexis went to a local state college to play lacrosse and start her nursing pre-requisites before she ultimately came to ACC.
“I was talking with a friend and the environment here is just so natural, I immediately wanted to come here train to be an RT,” Alexis shared.
After graduating, Alexis plans to move to Orange County and work in her new field.
“I am excited for the next couple of months. It’s flown by and I can’t wait to get started with my career,” she said.
