Friends, family and faculty of more than 30 American Career College-Los Angeles graduates had a great day this October celebrating the newest cohort of vocational nurses.
ACC-Los Angeles VN Program Director Anissa Alfaro called the pinning “a success” and said that she was very grateful to St. Vincent Medical Center for allowing her cohort the opportunity to host it at Seton Hall, which was formerly the institute’s nursing school.
“There is so much history within those walls,” Alfaro said.
During the ceremony, Alfaro thanked all the graduates for their commitment but also mentioned that more than half of the cohort had passed their nursing exam and were already licensed vocational nurses. Of the 31 VNs in attendance, Alfaro made sure that Daniel Alcaraz, Mary Brown, Edna Cardona, Nohelia Chire, Quintanisha Clark, Christina Flores, Ronnika Geter, Angela Hongtongsak, Williamson Lai, Danika Luczon, Xenia Martinez, Anna Morales, Rudolph Napoles, Elizabeth Sepedian, Jhustinn Torres, Julie Velasquez and Cindy Wu knew they had made their teachers especially proud.
“I know we work hard to prepare our graduates. The goal is to make them the best nurses they can be to serve our communities,” Alfaro said. “Their achievement is our achievement as educators.”
