The students and staff at American Career College-Los Angeles were treated to an ice cream social this April for exceeding their fundraising goals for the Orange County Heart and Stroke Walk in March.
ACC-Los Angeles executive director Lani Townsend helped provide the cold rewards with the assistance of staff and faculty during a whole week in April so no student would be left out.
"We just had to do something special for our students and staff for helping us exceed our goal of $3,100," ACC-LA Student Services coordinator Ruthy Rodriguez said. "We actually ended with a grand total of $4,500!"
Rodriguez said the students were happy about beating their goal, but even more excited about receiving their bonus reward.
"Fundraising is fun," Rodriquez said, "but fundraising and ice cream is even better."
