ACC-Ontario career service specialists Judy Baldovinos and Jacqueline Valenzuela were presented with the awards to recognize the participation in the 2018 NAMI Walks event this October and for ACC being a gold sponsor of the 15th annual Los Angeles County “Making Waves in Mental Health” walk.
ACC-Ontario education director Amanda Ramos thanked the associates for their time and dedication to a cause that is “close to my heart.”
“Those who suffer from mental health-related diseases also suffer from the stigma associated with mental illness,” Ramos said. “Continued participation in events that drive awareness and support is the first step in ensuring others understand treatment options. This also helps others learn how to support loved ones throughout the treatment process.”
ACC student clinical experience manager Rolando Valdivia and ACC strategic partnerships executive director Mario Medina were among the ACC associates who gave their time to help out at the walk on the behalf of ACC.
“We’re looking forward to partnering more with the NAMI organization and we’re especially looking forward to adding this award to our lobby wall,” ACC-Ontario executive director Rita Totten said.
