Optical tech classes start on November 25, 2024.

ACC’s Optical Technician program helps prepare you for a rewarding career as an optical technician, optical lab technician or contact lens fitter. Through online coursework and hands-on training, ACC’s optical technician school in Ontario trains students to conduct eye exam pre-screening tests, dispense eyeglasses, adjust/repair frames and more.

Gain the knowledge and skills you need to help patients choose the right eye care solutions. With one-on-one support and technologically advanced equipment such as a lensometer and Optikam, our Ontario Optical Technician program sets graduates up for success.

Karina Castaneda

Director of Optical Technician Program at ACC-Ontario

An alumna of the ACC-LA Optical Dispensing program, Karina has worked in the field for 19 years and has been teaching at ACC for 15 years. She is American Board of Optometry (ABO) & National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) certified as well as a CA State Licensed Spectacle and Contact Lens Dispenser. In her many years as an educator, Karina has trained hundreds of opticians on optical principles and concepts, eye diseases, lens design and more.
