The ADN program is designed to prepare you to become a Registered Nurse (RN) in 20 months, while the VN program is designed to prepare you to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 12 months for day classes (18 months for evening & weekend schedule). RNs have broader scope of practice and typically higher earning potential, while LVNs can start working sooner and have more flexible scheduling options during training.
Programs start multiple times throughout the year. To apply, you'll need to meet with an admissions advisor, complete your application, take entrance exams, and fulfill all admission requirements. Contact us to learn about upcoming start dates for your preferred program and schedule.
The ADN program is full-time and intensive, making it challenging to work full-time. The VN program offers evening and weekend options specifically designed for working students. Many students work part-time, but we recommend discussing your specific situation with an admissions advisor to plan accordingly.
Program costs vary by campus and program. We offer various financial aid options including federal grants, loans, scholarships, and payment plans for those who qualify. Our financial aid team will work with you to explore all available options to make your education affordable.
The VN program has no prerequisite requirements - you can start right away! The ADN program requires six general education courses (Written Communications, College Mathematics, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Oral Communication, and Cultural Pluralism) which can often be completed at ACC or transferred from other institutions.
2024 94.85% NCLEX-RN pass rate for ADN graduates and 2024 87.95% NCLEX-PN pass rate for VN graduates. We also maintain a 88% ADN job placement rate and 75% VN job placement rate, with career services support to help you launch your nursing career.

Yes! Many students start with our VN program to enter the workforce quickly, then return to complete their RN through our ADN program or transfer to other institutions. This pathway allows you to start earning as an VN while working toward your RN goal.
