The ADN program prepares you to become a Registered Nurse (RN) in 20 months, while the LVN program prepares you to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 12 months for day classes (18 months for evening & weekend schedule). RNs have broader scope of practice and typically higher earning potential, while LVNs can start working sooner and have more flexible scheduling options during training.

The ADN program is full-time and intensive, making it challenging to work full-time. The LVN program offers evening and weekend options specifically designed for working students. The LVN program has no prerequisite requirements - you can start right away! The ADN program requires six general education courses (Written Communications, College Mathematics, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Oral Communication, and Cultural Pluralism) which can often be completed at ACC or transferred from other institutions.
