Combining her background in photography with her interest in medicine, Anh-Thu V. found radiography a unique blend of art and science — a natural choice for her career.
Anh-Thu, who attended ACC’s Anaheim campus, appreciated the smaller, close-knit environment compared to larger state colleges. This atmosphere encouraged intense focus, especially with a rigorous two-year curriculum. Anh-Thu attributed much of her academic success to the camaraderie among her classmates, whom she connected with through a supportive Discord group.
"We shared resources, notes, and study tips," she explained, noting that teaching others solidified her knowledge. The camaraderie built in her program continues to thrive beyond graduation, with Anh-Thu and her peers staying connected.
Anh-Thu’s efforts paid off, leading to her current role at her clinical site and plans for further certification in CT or nuclear medicine. Reflecting on her journey, she credited ACC’s Career Services and clinical placement for jump-starting her career. Her advice for future ACC students? Network extensively.
“Your classmates and staff become your biggest support, both in school and in finding jobs afterward,” she said.
