Nearly 100 students, faculty and staff from American Career College made the drive to Anaheim for the 2018 Orange County Heart & Stroke Walk this March.
"It was really quite amazing to see everyone come together to help a cause that is so meaningful to all of us," ACC Chief Student Experience Officer Susan Pailet said. "Many friends and family members (and dogs) showed up too and added to the excitement of the day."
ACC helped raised more than $8,000 for the 5-kilometer run/walk in and around Angels Stadium to increase awareness about stroke and heart disease and to support the American Heart Association. ACC-Los Angeles was the most generous of the campuses, with more than $3,000 in donations.
Highlights from the day included:
- The KTLA shout-out from Wendy Burch and the “High Five” group pic
- More than 10,000 community members were greeted by our associates
- ACC Chief Operating Officer Tim Lee and ACC Chief Academic Officer Shaun McAlmont were there to share in this wonderful day
- T-shirts were co-branded and shared the message of F.I.T., our graduate services campaign signifying that our graduates are flexible, inspired and team-oriented
- ACC hospital partners who joined us included: Placentia Linda, Los Alamitos Medical Center, Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center, KPC Hospital System and Childrens Hospital Orange County (CHOC)
