RESEARCH QUESTIONS
More than 50 people stopped by during the celebration, ACC Library Services manager Jonny Grass said, including great turnouts for the origami and cupcake decorating workshops. Grass said he wants the library to be a "student-centered" place and encouraged students to use the library's resources and ask the staff any research questions they might have.
"One reason why libraries are very, very important is now students and everyone has a lot of access to the internet. There's a lot of really good information on the Internet and there's a lot of not-so-good information on the Internet," Grass said. "In the healthcare field specifically, it's really important to have reliable information coming from the right sources."
During the event, students were also given a survey to get a sense of what workshops or skills they would like support on, including basic computer or PowerPoint workshops. Grass had also asked students to send in artwork to decorate the walls. More than 10 pieces were submitted and Grass said he'd like to have a regular art showing at the library.
"The goal is to have a central space that students can use for studying or working together for tutoring. We have computers here where they can print things and then also we're working towards getting a circulating collection so students can check out books as well," Grass said.
