Physical therapy assistant students from American Career College had people seeing red at a recent conference in San Diego.
Nearly 40 ACC-Orange County PTA students in matching red polo shirts took to the halls of the San Diego Convention Center and made their presence known at the California Physical Therapy Association annual conference this September.
"Everyone I spoke with commented on how professional our students were and how great in numbers they were," ACC-OC Physical Therapy Assistant Program Director Janice Lwin said. "Many of our students also volunteered to help at various positions of the conference including staffing our ACC marketing table."
Lwin said the 38 students came from two cohorts. Other highlights included one student becoming a regional PTA student representative and attending the conference's annual meeting. A second PTA student, Tina Pham, presented her first case study poster. Lwin also exhibited two research presentations.
"This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to network and meet other students, get involved in their profession and interact with other PTs [physicial therapists] and PTAs [physical therapy assistants]," Lwin said. "We definitely accomplished our goal for the weekend of putting ACC on the map."
