Choosing a college is easier when you can picture yourself there. A college open house gives you the chance to step inside the campus, walk through labs and classrooms, meet instructors, and ask questions that aren’t answered on the school’s website.
At American Career College (ACC), open houses are designed for students exploring hands-on healthcare training. Spending time on campus helps you see how learning actually happens in a vocational school setting, from classroom instruction to hands-on lab work.
Learn more about ACC’s 2026 open houses by campus and program, along with 6 reasons why attending a college open house can make a significant difference in your decision-making.
Each year, ACC offers several career college open house events across our three campuses in Southern California: Los Angeles, Orange County (Anaheim), and Ontario. Each open house focuses on specific programs and gives prospective students time to explore facilities, connect with faculty, and speak with admissions and financial aid teams.
You can RSVP for an upcoming open house on our events page.

Experiencing a campus in person gives you context that photos and virtual tours can’t provide. An open house gives you the opportunity to check out classrooms and key facilities like the library or hands-on labs. This allows you to get a feel for the campus and evaluate whether it's an environment you can see yourself flourishing in.
College is about more than coursework and classrooms — you should also appreciate where it’s located. Attending an open house lets you explore the surrounding area and experience the campus experience, recreational activities, and local dining options. After all, it’s more than just a college campus; it’s where you’ll spend time building a supportive community.
Do you have questions that a college website doesn’t seem to address? Maybe you want to know more about specific programs or whether you can transfer credits from another institution you attended. Whether it’s about transfer credits, financial aid, program length, course offerings, or career guidance, this is your chance to gather the information you need to make an informed decision.
One of the highlights of learning at ACC is gaining hands-on training in our on-campus labs. Equipped with industry-current equipment and technology, these labs provide students with real-world experience that mirrors scenarios and settings that you’ll likely encounter on the job.
A majority of ACC open houses feature these engaging lab demonstrations, giving you the opportunity to witness first-hand what awaits you in your program as well as ask instructors questions directly.
Building relationships with the faculty and staff directly involved in your education is a vital part of selecting the right college. An open house allows you to meet with instructors who will teach you and the staff who will help support you.
Each interaction can grant you insight into teaching styles, academic expectations, and commitment to student success. These conversations help you build meaningful connections with potential mentors who can guide you through your college experience and beyond.
It can be overwhelming to navigate the college admissions process alone; attending an open house can give you the clarity you need. This is your chance to receive step-by-step guidance on how to apply, including deadlines and required documents.
If you’ve earned credits elsewhere, you can discuss if/how they may be applied towards your future education. You’ll also learn about any entrance exams, essays, or interviews that might be part of the admissions process.
Financing your education is a major part of the college decision-making process. During an open house, financial aid advisors are typically available to explain funding options such as scholarships, grants, and loans, and walk through application steps.
These conversations can help illuminate how to apply for financial aid and determine your eligibility. You’ll also learn about work-study opportunities and other ways to fund your education. Plus, you can uncover scholarships that are unique to the college and/or program you are applying to.
If you’re exploring a college open house in Southern California, ACC offers multiple opportunities throughout the year to visit campus and learn more about our healthcare training programs.
Register today to secure your spot and view upcoming open houses on ACC’s events page.
