Student Services hosted a Color Shop as part of health awareness and life skills for the American Career College-Los Angeles student population on Feb. 8.
“Our Color Shop was a way to help reduce stress in the busy lives of our students,” ACC-Los Angeles Student Services coordinator Ruthy Rodriguez said. “We had adult coloring with very relaxing music, provided snacks and water and gave students peace and quiet.”
Students from all programs were invited to grab a handful of colorful pens to brighten up one of a variety of coloring options, from cartoons to deep sea adventure. Rodriquez said research suggests adult coloring can actually have positive benefits on reducing stress.
“It’s just a little thing, but everyone needs a moment to just do something a little different now and then,” Rodriquez said. “It makes a difference.”
