Eager to dive into the healthcare field, Ashley H. joined American Career College immediately after high school.
"I want to go into pediatric programs,” she explained. "I was fresh out of high school when I joined the ACC program and glad I didn’t take a gap year after graduating."
A major draw for Ashley was the hands-on approach of the Medical Assistant program. This environment helped her feel more comfortable, despite the initial challenges.
"They teach you here; it's hands-on. If you make a mistake, nobody judges you," she said. "At first, it can be really scary, but the team here helped me out."
Her inspiration comes from her parents, who immigrated with little to give their children.
"My parents came to this country with nothing, and they gave me and my siblings everything," she said. "That's what motivates me every day."
For anyone considering the Medical Assistant program, Ashley had some advice: "Don’t be scared, go for it, and have fun with it," she encouraged.
While her time at ACC has been fulfilling, Ashley said she’s excited to take the next step in her career. Looking ahead, Ashley has her sights set on eventually becoming a registered nurse after completing the MA program.
"I just want to keep working up and keep moving forward," she said.
