Medical assistant students from American Career College-Los Angeles made and distributed blankets to people living on the streets this holiday season.
Azalia Ryckman, an ACC-Los Angeles medical assistant student in Mary-Sue McPetrie’s morning class, initiated the project and gained the support of her classmates. The group ended up fabricating more than a dozen blankets, which they distributed after class on Dec. 22.
“We are so proud that Azalia took the initiative and made the time to give back to our community,” ACC-LA administrative assistant Cathy Rabensteine said. “Even the smallest gesture or gift can make a world of difference.”
