ACC-Los Angeles MA Students Volunteer at Arroyo Vista Family Health Center Event

More than a dozen medical assistant students from American Career College-Los Angeles volunteered at an Arroyo Vista Family Health Center community event in northeast Los Angeles this October.

The entire mid-morning MA class taught by instructor Lizzette Rivas was able to help out at the event.

"Our students were aiding patients with their screening paper work, navigating with specific locations and focusing on the patient application process," ACC-LA Career Services Director Gohar Abrahamian said. "Many of our bilingual students were translating to those patients who could not speak English."

Arroyo Vista Family Health Center is a non-profit network of community health centers in California.

"This volunteer opportunity for the MA program was a huge success," Abrahamian said.
