Marie Margarett Angeles, an occupational therapy assistant student at American Career College, was recently honored by the California Foundation of Occupational Therapy.
Angeles will be recognized for all of her service to the community and within the Student OT Association here at ACC-Orange County. Angeles has helped organized several volunteer events within the community, including coordinating student OTA involvement at the Triumph Foundation adaptive sports event in April.
"I will continue helping and supporting ACC-OC even when I’m done with the program to help students see how lucky we are to be here," Angeles said. "The overwhelming support from my professors, like Dr. Heather Thomas, Dr. Jeni Dulek, Dr. Rachelle Murphy and instructors Janyce Johnson and Christine Guevarra, helps me to better help others and put my heart in everything I do. Thanks to ACC-OC for changing my life and helping me to help others."
Angeles will receive the award at the OT Association of California conference, which is held in Sacramento in October.
"Yea for Margarett, for being a stellar example of a good FIT," OTA Program Director Heather Thomas said.
