Nothing says success at a career fair like a job offer. And by that definition, the fall career fair at American Career College-Los Angeles this October was very, very successful.
More than 40 students and graduates from various programs at ACC-Los Angeles got an opportunity to interview with job recruiters at the event and, according to ACC-LA Career Services Director Gohar Abrahamian, several of them landed jobs.
"The Career Services team could not keep up with on-the-spot interviews," Abrahamian said. "It’s days like these that make me proud to be part of the ACC family."
More than 250 students, recent graduates and alumni walked from table to table at the fair, trading introductions and distributing resumes to the nearly 60 employers present. CVS Pharmacy interviewed 12 pharmacy technician grads during the event and will conduct second interviews next week. Asian Pacific Health Care Venture interviewed 10 medical assistants (MAs) and two licensed vocational nurse grads, and hired six MAs to start their careers in October.
Grifols, a large bioscience company whom ACC has recently partnered with, interviewed 15 MAs with plans for second interview in the works.
“Our students work really hard in the classroom and clinic and our Career Services team loves seeing all the students' effort shine through,” Abrahamian said.
