The American Career College Library is getting a new home and to help celebrate ACC students are invited to get creative with a student art contest.
Submissions are due by Aug. 15 and will be displayed at the Library Launch on Aug. 17. Visitors to the event will vote for their favorites and the top vote getters will go on the library walls, ACC Librarian Jonny Grass said.
Students can submit drawings, paintings, collages or other art to decorate the library. Ideas for inspiration include making a mascot or logo for the library, sharing who you are outside of ACC, or printing and coloring a book page from the SMART Imagebase.
“Have fun with it,” Grass said. “Be silly, but be appropriate for school and work. I hope some students submit a mascot. I can’t even imagine what it would be, but I’d hope it would be ridiculous and funny."
ACC staff are welcome to submit mascot ideas as well, Grass added.
The Library is now located at 2461 La Palma Ave. (Building 2), Room 238 at ACC-Orange County. Stop by from Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the grand opening, including coffee and snacks, a scavenger hunt, library survey and origami and cupcake decorating workshops.
