Christian Paz used to work at Disneyland but didn't see any future for his job.
"Working on rides, you can't really go anywhere from there and I wanted to do something more," Paz said.
Now six months into his medical assistant program at American Career College-Ontario, Paz is one month away from starting his externship and one step closer to beginning a career in healthcare.
I like the idea of working in a doctor's office and being really close to the patients. I think it's really personable job and that's interesting to me.
I went to a lot of different schools first and walked around the campus and talked to some people and I liked the campus here more than the other ones. And I liked all the instructors better.
Don't be afraid to ask for help because there's a lot of students here that know what they're doing and the instructors are really excellent. If you need extra help at giving extra help and all that stuff so ask a lot of questions.
I think of something my grandpa used to say. He used to always say, "Intuition, speak to me." I think that's really cool and it can mean a lot of different things, but to me it means always listen to your heart and you'll do well.
