One thing was perfectly clear at American Career College's most recent Student Appreciation Day — ACC-Lynwood is Dodgers Country.
Students from all programs available at ACC-Lynwood met in the library to eat and take part in some fun activities, like a bean bag toss and a pie-eating contest. Most wore shirts or jerseys from their favorite sporting teams and the overwhelming majority of students were clad in Los Angeles Dodgers blue.
“We’re having an absolute blast on Student Appreciation Day and letting our students have some fun but also thanking them for being awesome role models for themselves and their families," ACC-Lynwood Executive Director Lani Townsend said during the sports-themed event.
ACC-Lynwood staff had prepared hot dogs, chips and drinks for 250 people, Townsend said, adding she always likes to see the various cohorts and programs get a chance to interact and bond.
"This kind of activity, where we’re doing more things as a group, just brings the whole community together,” Townsend said.
