Student Services at American Career College-Los Angeles hosted a ‘Color Shop’ activity as part of the Summer Celebration for its student population.
"Our color shop was a way to help reduce stress in the busy lives of our students. We had adult coloring with very relaxing music, provided snacks and water and gave students peace and quiet," ACC-Los Angeles Student Services director Nadya Torres said.
Research suggests adult coloring activity can have positive benefits on reducing stress, Torres said, and event faculty members joined in on the fun. ACC-LA night optics instructor Benny Calaustro loved the event and would support more events like this in the future, Torres said.
"He said his students came very relaxed to start class and he really enjoyed the ambiance created at our color shop," Torres added.
Nearly 80 students participated during the day and student-colored artwork will be displayed in the reception area during July.
All students in attendance were entered into our Summer Celebration raffle and with prizes including Dodgers tickets, Subway gift cards and a Target gift card.
