Celebrate Nurses Week 2016

May 9, 2016

National Nurses Week is May 6-12 and we at American Career College wanted to take a moment to thank our nursing students, nursing faculty and associates and our community partners. We appreciate all of our nurses and future nurses for helping take care of our community.

Nurses Week 2016 Features

For Nurses Week, we spoke to nursing students, graduates and community partners about why they've chosen nursing as their profession.

Check out what they have to say by selecting their names at left.

Nurses Week Features:

“Every day I give as much as I can because one student makes a difference — and one equals all. So if you take all your ‘ones’ and put them all together, then you have the next generation of nurses.”
- ACC-Lynwood NCLEX Success Coordinator and LVN Graduate NeCole Ethridge

“Be the one person that day that cares, so they can remember how you felt. I believe it was Maya Angelou who said they may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel. And I think that’s pretty true.”
- ACC-Long Beach LVN Graduate Antoinette Robinson

“I’ve been dreaming of becoming a nurse since I was 5, so it’s really kind of like a dream come true. My mom, growing up, she would always take me to her work and I would always see the nurses there, just helping the patients and that’s when I fell in love, like ‘OK, I’m going to become a nurse.’ Not just because of the money, but because I love helping people.
- ACC-Los Angeles LVN Student Ashley Parayno

“Nursing is a hard job. Some people say it’s a thankless job, just like teaching for example. You do so much and you give so much of yourself. Sometimes you don’t hear all the thank you’s so I think it’s extremely important that the hospital lets the nurses know, ‘We thank you,'”
- Nadia Lopez-Bryant, Silverlake Medical Center, ACC Clinical Partner
