On Saturday, October 13, 2012, the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center held its successful 10th Annual Community Health and Safety Fair. Ten ACC Massage Therapy students participated in giving free massages to 132 weary members of the community. This is the fifth year that the ACC Massage Therapy program has participated in the health fair. The Massage Therapy booth was so popular, at times there was a 45 minute wait!
The students preformed a technique called “dry table massages,” which they learned in the ACC Massage Therapy program. This hands-on experience gave the students more confidence in their massage therapy skills. Additionally, volunteering students at such events is one of the many ways that ACC is committed to giving back to the community. By getting students involved, it not only gives them a real-world experience, but also teaches them the importance of giving back to the community they serve.
ACC thanks all of the students who participated, including Alex Allen, Julio Arroyo, Kayla Gage, Arianna Gomez, Nikoini Guerra, Briana Guerrero, Edward Hall, Ariel Howard, Esmeralda Lazo, and Randal Ribal. ACC would also like to thank its staff who attended.
