Free Vision Clinic

Forty-five optical students volunteered at the vision center of a free medical clinic held on the campus of California State University, Long Beach. Students assisted with checking in patients, taking visual acuities, using the auto-refractor, neutralizing glasses on the Lensometer, analyzing prescriptions, picking out frames, taking facial measurements, and filling out lab forms.

“It was such a joy to see the excitement on the students’ faces. They were confident of their skills and were so happy to help. Some of them even went back on Saturday and Sunday to help more!”
